Data Source List

Data Source List is the list of available data sources for diagram construction. LogAnalytics allows you to build several diagrams on the same data source allowing versatile approach for analysis. There five available data source types

File Log allows you to retrieve data from any text file log on local or network file system
Database Log extracts data from any ODBC compatible data source (database)
Serial (COM) Log collects data via serial port from any standalone hardware (PBX etc)
TCP Log connects to the specified host via the Internet in receives data form there
UDP Log Listens for data at specified port (SysLog)

You can construct as many simultaneously working data sources (and correspondent diagrams) of each type as you want.

The most important is that you do not limit by original log format. You can process any source log format in the text form where each event placed on separate line. It is the most common log form. Log format independence is achieved by Regular Expressions providing flexible and configurable log parsing approach.

Data Source management is not available remotely. You can manage Data Sources only from server part of the program.

Data Source List Dialog

Data Source List dialog contains all available data sources. All the data source operations could be performed by toolbar, right mouse button and keyboard.

The nex operations are available

New creates new empty data source
Delete deletes the chosen data source if it is possible. If any diagram is connected/started to chosen data source, it will not possible to delete/edit it.
Edit edits data source parameters with the special DataSource Edit Dialog
Export saves the data source configuration in XML format for easy data source archiving and exchanging
Import loads the data source configuration back
Clone helps you to make the copy of the selected data source under different name. It can help you to create set of similar diagrams for detailed log analysis.
Reset clears data source data of the selected data source.
Rebuild allows to re-sends local data source storage to all the connected diagrams
Refresh renews the data source list

means the datasource is free from any use
