Programs List

The Programs List contains all the applications registered and controlled by XP Firewall Control. The list contains two columns - application name and application security zone.
All the operations with the listed programs are performed via the toolbar, the right mouse click menu or the hotkey (see the menu for the hotkey assistance). So the programs can be inserted, deleted and/or edited.
If XP Windows firewall detects a new application, you will need to refresh XP Firewall Control's Programs List to reflect changes (with the toolbar or the right mouse click menu) making it available in the list.
The application access settings (zone settings) are performed in two mutually supplementing each other ways.
You can choose a preconfigured zone by name for an application. In order to apply a security zone for an application you need to activate a string with the application's name and to press SPACE or Double-Click this item. Right mouse button click activates the application's control menu ("Edit" item). The "Edit Application" dialog allows you to choose and set a new zone. The chosen zone (all the access rules from the zone actually) are copied as the application's access rules.
Anytime you can customize the rules for the application via the toolbar, the right mouse click menu or the hotkey. See Zone Editor dialog in Zones section.
Edit Application

Edit Application dialog allows you to set all the rules from the zone by name at once. The choice takes place from the Zones list. All the rules from a chosen zone are copied as application access rules. The dialog additionally shows application details (full description, full path and application icon).
